Our Services

Diagnostic Imaging Services

We offer a wide range of diagnostic imaging services that help doctors detect and diagnose various conditions. Our imaging services include:

X-Ray Imaging: Fast and effective for detecting bone fractures, infections, and other structural abnormalities.

Ultrasound: Safe and non-invasive imaging technique used to monitor pregnancy, detect tumours, and evaluate soft tissues and organs.

CT scans: High-resolution imaging to examine complex internal structures and detect a range of conditions such as cancers, heart diseases, and injuries.

Colour Doppler: This is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses soundwaves to visualize blood flow and blood vessel structure, showing blood flow direction & the speed it flows at.

ECHO Cardiogram: this is a painless ultrasound scan that uses sound waves to create & take pictures of the heart to diagnose heart ailments and problems.

Radiodiagnosis is a branch of medical imaging that uses radiology techniques, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds, to diagnose diseases and conditions inside the body. These imaging technologies provide crucial insights into the structure and function of organs and tissues, aiding doctors in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
X-rays pass through the body and are absorbed in different amounts by various tissues. Dense structures like bones absorb more radiation and appear white on the X-ray image, while less dense tissues, like muscles or organs, absorb less and appear darker. This difference allows doctors to identify fractures, infections, tumors, and other abnormalities.
A CT (Computed Tomography) scan is a more advanced imaging technique than a traditional X-ray. It combines multiple X-ray images taken from different angles and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the body. This provides more detailed information about organs, bones, and blood vessels, making it useful for diagnosing complex conditions.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is generally considered safe as it does not use ionizing radiation like X-rays or CT scans. However, it is not suitable for individuals with certain implants, such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, or other metal devices that may interfere with the magnetic field. It's essential to inform your doctor about any implants before undergoing an MRI.
The primary difference between MRI and CT scans lies in the technology used. MRI uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to generate images, ideal for soft tissues like the brain, muscles, and spinal cord. CT scans, on the other hand, use X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and blood vessels. CT is faster, while MRI is better for detailed images of soft tissues.
The duration of a radio diagnostic procedure depends on the type of imaging. X-rays typically take only a few minutes, while CT scans may take 10-20 minutes. MRIs can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity of the scan. Ultrasounds are usually completed within 15-30 minutes.
Most radio diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays and MRIs, are considered safe. However, X-rays and CT scans involve exposure to ionizing radiation, which can increase the risk of cancer over time, especially with repeated exposure. Your doctor will always weigh the benefits and risks before recommending any imaging. MRI does not use ionizing radiation, making it a safer option in some cases.
Preparation varies depending on the type of imaging. For an X-ray, there is usually no special preparation required. For CT scans or MRIs, you may need to fast for a few hours, especially if contrast dye will be used. In some cases, you may need to change into a hospital gown and remove metal objects like jewellery. Always follow the instructions given by your healthcare provider.
Contrast dye is a special substance injected into the body or ingested to enhance the quality of the images during imaging procedures like CT scans or MRIs. It helps highlight blood vessels, organs, and tumors, making it easier for doctors to detect abnormalities. The contrast material is generally safe, though allergic reactions can occur in rare cases.
After your radio diagnostic procedure, a radiologist will analyze the images and send a report to your doctor. Depending on the situation, your doctor will discuss the results with you, usually during a follow-up appointment. If any urgent findings are noted, your doctor will contact you promptly to initiate necessary treatments or further investigations.
